Shouted Praises are Weapons of War

Cindy Arora December 1, 2020

God’s high and holy praises fill their mouths, for their shouted praises are their weapons of war! Psalm 149:6 TPT

With the global pandemic ripping through whole communities and the death toll rising, even a cheerful person like myself will have sad days. A couple of weeks ago, my heart felt heavy, like I carried a ton of bricks.

I reached out to friends for prayers. Every prayer lifted several bricks from my heart. One friend suggested that I read the Psalms. What great advice! I found the Psalm above that says my shouts of praise are weapons of war.

I put God’s word into action. I sang along with worship music at the top of my lungs for half a day! I shouted praises to God and made declarations OUTLOUD! Finally, my joy bubbled up again. The ton of bricks is gone. Once again, I am the encourager.

Let me encourage you. If your heart is heavy with sadness, reach out for prayer. If you feel like you are carrying a ton of bricks, read through the Psalms. Most importantly, SING! Sing and shout praises to God. Keep singing until the spiritual atmosphere changes from despair to hope. Keep shouting praise of God until your faith and joy rise up again. Sing and shout to the Lord a new song. Amen!
