I’m excited to share with you the fruit God is producing from the seeds sown in Zimbabwe.
The resident missionaries continue to minister in Jesus’ name weekly at the mine and the neighboring farm. Recently, four men from another mine joined because they “wanted to hear about Jesus.” Praise God!
The farm workers were thrilled to be gifted Bibles in the local language. They started to send their children to church. The first few weeks of ministry on the farm focused on salvation. When asked if they wanted give (or rededicate) their life to Jesus, everyone stood to accept Jesus as King of their lives. Hallelujah! Several expressed interest in baptism. Now three men attend church with the farm’s children.
You may remember that the headmaster (principal) of the local school was throwing up obstacles and speaking evil during our visit. He disrupted but could not stop the VBS we planned for the children. The missionaries have met with him. The meeting was peaceful, and he agreed to allow them to teach the children reading lessons. Thank You, Jesus.
I saved my favorite story for last. Remember the miner previously named “Shametime?” God had changed his name while we were there to “Righteous.” Two weeks ago, we received a video of Righteous declaring his commitment to Jesus in water baptism. I had tears in my eyes. God has given me a mother’s heart for that young man.
I invite you to pray for those missionaries and God’s treasure in Zimbabwe.
Be blessed!
