Could King Solomon’s preparations for building the temple of God have some practical application for us as the temple of God (1 Cor. 3:16)? Those were my thoughts as I started reading 1 Kings 5. I was delighted with how many I found. Come along, I’ll show you. . . .

Have you heard people say that Jesus never claimed to be God? Clearly, they have never studied the Bible. Through His words and actions Jesus fulfills over 300 prophecies about the long-awaited Messiah. The fulfillment of one of those prophecies was like a spiritual earthquake. . . .

God called us by name to build Him a dwelling place too. You and I are the temple of God (1 Cor. 3:16-17). How do we “build” God a dwelling place in our hearts? I’m finding inspiration . . .

Take a closer look at the photo above. Do you see the haziness? I wondered, “Do they have a smoke machine here at Pursuit?” No. They do not. That cloud that you see is supernatural. It is the cloud of God’s glory.

What does Revival look like? . . .

Has the enemy stolen from you or held you captive in areas of your life? Then Obadiah is the book for you.

Our God is a just God. He will punish injustices against His covenant people. . . .

Ever heard the one about the Divine Clockmaker? It is the theory that God created the world, set it in motion, and then took His hands off. It is like a clockmaker wound up a clock, let it run and walked away. The implication is that God is detached, uninvolved in our day-to-day lives. Evil flourishes because God chooses not to intervene.

Nothing could be farther from the truth. Before God . . .

Millions of decisions and details must be considered when building a house: which floor plan; where to build; what materials; who to hire; how to pay for it. The list seems endless. Even just the furnishing and decorating phase can be overwhelming. Which sink and stove and other fixtures to choose? What flooring and furniture will coordinate well together? Whew! Building a house is a huge undertaking.

Now imagine that you are building a house for God . . .

This verse inspired in me a deeper revelation of the trinity of God, and a beautiful picture of the hope of our salvation.
